Get involved!

DCLWU is a worker-run organizing drive and we need your voice and action. Please get in touch with any questions, comments, or to get more involved.

Follow us on Instagram (dclwunion) or Twitter (DCLWUnion).

What you can do:

  • Talk to us. We want to hear any questions or comments you have about the union, whether you agree with us or not!

  • Wear a button. We've got very charming buttons with the DCLWU logo on them, and wearing one is a great way to quietly show your support at work. Email us and we'll make sure you get one.

  • Sign a card. This is not an official vote for the union, but it is a way to show that there is support for the union among Dartmouth library workers. You can sign electronically or email us to get a print card. Learn more about card signing here.

  • Volunteer. Organizing a union takes a lot of work! If you're interested in lending your time and skills to the effort, we definitely want to hear from you.

  • Learn. There's a lot of ignorance about unions (largely because that ignorance benefits those opposed to worker rights), so educating yourself is an important way to improve your own understanding and decide what you think.

  • Vote. After the union files for recognition, the NLRB will then organize a vote where all eligible library workers can vote on whether to form the union. We anticipate the election, which may be in person or, preferably, by mail ballot, to take place this July. Find an explanation of the ballot on our FAQ page.
